About Us
I am based in the small seaport and seaside town of Teignmouth, Devon where I have a small bookroom. I normally sell mostly at bookfairs in the west country where I attend one most months. I have a small eclectic stock including manuscripts and ephemera. My main areas of interest are travel and topography, particularly Switzerland and Europe, also heraldry, genealogy, theology and general academic and antiquarian books.
I came to book selling after many years of collecting, and more recently book binding as well and am always interested in purchasing interesting stock as well as selling.
A selection of my stock can be viewed on this site but I am always happy to hear from collectors with specific wants. I can ship books to all parts of the globe so please do contact me to discuss carriage options. All carriage is charged at cost and prices on this website are exclusive of carriage. All books remain the property of Richard V. Wells until paid for in full. Payment can be made by cheque or bank transfer and must be in GBP unless by prior agreement. Institutions and libraries are welcome to pay against my invoice. Payment by Paypal is also an option.
I make every effort to ensure my descriptions of all items are accurate. If you find an item not as described it can be returned to me at my expense and a full refund will be given. If you are unhappy about an item for any other reason it may be returned within 14 days for a full refund. I would be grateful that you advise me when posting or returning an item for any reason. My aim is to please my customers so please do contact me and I will try to help you in any way I can.
I am an Associate member of the Antiquarian Booksellersâ Association (ABA) and a member of the Provincial Booksellers Fairs Association (PBFA) and am bound by their code of ethics and practice.
