Richly gilt decoration to compartments and tan and gilt title label. A very good copy. A French Huguenot, Jean Rousset de Missy (1686-1762) was a renowned historian and author. He wrote extensively on international law and his books were important reference works for diplomats. He was also an authority on ceremonial as testified by the current scarce work on rank and precedence in the courts of Europe.
