Small 8vo (196 x 123). pp, xxxi, (5), 224. Mss ownership signature to front free endpaper dated 1835. Age toned paper with endpapers chipped at edges due to poor paper quality. New endpapers and rebound in brown cloth with original title lable laid down. Essentially a list of British knights between the years 1760 and 1828 by Francis Townsend, Rouge Dragon Pursuivant of Arms whose library was sold to the College of Arms by his widow. Besides details of the British Orders and their knights the preface contains a very usefull summary of those Foreign Orders of Knighthood which have been conferred on British subjects.
